This artwork is my visual interpretation of Brisbane’s Indie School. I used a mixture of acrylic paint and Posca paint pens. There are many indications that it’s Brisbane City, such as, Central Station and The Story Bridge. Every building is very uniform and carries a different pattern to symbolise that there’s life inside the buildings. Every single one of the finer details was done with paint pens to make sure I could capture specific details that I personally believe represent the city. I had the most difficulty when I was trying to find the right angles to draw the scenery from. I wanted to include the many perspectives, the perspective of looking down from above the figures and in between the buildings but also looking forward toward the city. The walking figure symbols represent all of the many lives people lead and how they travel side by side to come to school.
