The park near my childhood home memory

We’re walking home from school
And I’m going so slow
So Mum times my running
To see how fast I could go

She said “on our way home
We could go to the park
We could stay for a while
Maybe until it gets dark”!

I go on the 2 big slides
All on my own
While mum watches me
And records with her phone

I ran up the steps
And slid down the pole
I pretend I own a shop
And mum plays her role

I go to the swings
Mum pushes me high
I reach my arms up
To try and touch the sky

The monkey bars were my favourite
I could swing all day
But it’s starting to get dark
And we can’t stay

Mum says its time to go home
I don’t want to leave
But she said we could return tomorrow
That’s what she led me to believe
